Ms. Dellaverson brings her 27 years of experience as a counselor and litigator to her practice as an employment neutral. With her extensive background in employment law, Ms. Dellaverson is able to fairly and efficiently analyze and evaluate complex employment issues, and suggest a plan of action to resolve the problem.
In 2003 Ms. Dellaverson retired from Curiale Dellaverson Hirschfeld & Kramer, LLP, the employment law firm she co-founded, and now devotes her time to the prevention and resolution of employment disputes. Ms. Dellaverson is available for mediations, investigations and expert witness testimony.
BACKGROUND
Ms. Dellaverson began her legal career representing plaintiffs in Title VII litigation, with the law firm of Harris & Kahn, in Philadelphia, PA. She worked closely with the EEOC in a number of cases in Philadelphia and Washington DC. After moving to California, she represented management as a partner with the firms of Schachter, Kristoff, et al. and McKenna & Cuneo. In 1997 she helped found the employment law firm of Curiale Dellaverson Hirschfeld & Kramer, LLP.
In addition to litigating employment discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful discharge matters in federal and state courts, Ms. Dellaverson’s law practice focused on the prevention of discrimination and harassment in the workplace. Over the years, she has trained thousands of managers on their responsibilities in preventing sexual harassment and discrimination. She also helped employers devise programs to prevent harassment and discrimination from occurring. She has presented training in diverse settings, including schools, law firms, hospitals, government facilities, high-tech manufacturers, and many other large and small for profit and not for profit businesses.
In 1999, Ms. Dellaverson began transitioning to employment neutral work, and was trained in both facilitative and evaluative mediation techniques through the Bar Association of San Francisco. Ms. Dellaverson has also been trained as a mediator and expert neutral evaluator by the US District Court for the Northern District of California. She has mediated many disputes in employment and business litigation.
Ms. Dellaverson regularly serves the federal court as a mediator, and the Marin County Superior Court as a settlement panelist for cases set for trial.
She has also served as an independent investigator for a number of high-profile and sensitive matters, including allegations of misconduct brought by and against lawyers, judges, and other senior executives and professionals. She has frequently conducted seminars on properly investigating employee claims.
Ms. Dellaverson has appeared on local television stations and National Public Radio to discuss developments in discrimination and harassment law. She has presented programs for many organizations, including the Practicing Law Institute and the State Bar of California, on trying discrimination cases and other employment issues. She has published numerous articles on discrimination topics, including one of the first ones on sexual harassment: Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - How to Recognize It and Avoid Liability (Labor and Employment Law News, Fall 1983).

INVESTIGATIONS
There are situations when an outside investigator is best suited to look into claims made by employees who believe they are being treated unfairly or unlawfully. Especially if the allegations are made against a high-level executive or anyone who is perceived as being protected by the organization, a neutral third-party has the best chance of bringing the matter to a resolution acceptable to all parties. There are also situations where an organization does not wish to utilize its own attorneys to look into sensitive matters, both because of the perceived bias, and to avoid a conflict of interest in the event of subsequent litigation. In these instances, Ms. Dellaverson can be brought in to carefully and thoroughly investigate and provide an analysis of the dispute. She interviews witnesses, and makes credibility determinations and factual assessments. She prepares and provides a detailed report that can be used as the basis for decision making.
EXPERT WITNESS
Ms. Dellaverson provides expert testimony on employment-related matters, such as investigations, settlement value of cases, attorneys' fees, and other matters in which she is well versed.
